My name is Wes Molebash and I’ve been drawing comics and cartoons since I learned how to hold a pencil!  I love cartooning and creativity, and I enjoy encouraging others to chase their dreams whatever their avocation may be!

My goal is to foster a gracious, creative community and encourage thoughtful discussion. If you’re a creative person who feeds off the energy of other creative people, then this is the place for you!

I’m busy at work on a graphic novel, so my blog posts have been rather sporadic lately. I still try to post something about the creative process or my graphic novel progress once or twice a week.  On Fridays I post a list of blogs, pictures, and videos that interested me that week.  I occasionally write a post on an “off” day.  To make sure you never miss a post, you should subscribe to my RSS feed.

My Bio

I am the creator of the comic strips You’ll Have That, The Litterbox Chronicles, Max vs. Max, and Myron and Charlie.  I’ve also contributed comics to Josh Howard’s Dead@17 Rough Cut Vol.2, Sasquatch, and various other anthologies that have not been (or may never be) published yet.  I’ve also created gag panels and illustrations for companies and websites like VoicePro, Inc., Horizon Telecommunications, and Stuff Christians Like.

My wife, Kari, and I currently live and work in Southern Ohio.  I drive a Volkswagen Jetta which gets pretty good gas mileage.  I love to read and I spend way too much time on the internet.  My wife and I attend church at Centerpoint in Chillicothe, OH.

Tools of the Trade

Here’s a list of the various tools I use to draw cartoons and write blogs:

• I use a mechanical Pentel pencil with 0.7 blue lead
• I use DESiGN rubber kneaded erasers
• I ink with a Pentel Pocket Brush and Higgins Black Magic Ink (or Sumi ink – whatever’s on the table)
• I draw on smooth Strathmore Bristol Board (I mainly use 9X12, 11X14, and 14X17 size sheets)
• For measurements and straight-edges, I use a three-foot T-square.  I also use an 18-inch ruler with cork backing and a see-through drafting ruler
• I scan my drawings into the computer with a Brother all-in-one printer/scanner
• My computer is a 13″ MacBook Pro
• I edit my artwork in Photoshop CS3
• My blog is powered by WordPress with the SoulBop theme
